Summary

People under military law who, by carelessness or on purpose, miss leaving with a ship, plane, or unit they must travel with for duty must be punished in the way a military court decides. Anyone under military law who on purpose jumps off a military ship into the water without a lawful reason must also be punished in the way a military court decides.

(a)Any person subject to this chapter who, through neglect or design, misses the movement of a ship, aircraft, or unit with which the person is required in the course of duty to move shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.
(b)Any person subject to this chapter who wrongfully and intentionally jumps into the water from a vessel in use by the armed forces shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.
