Title 10 › Subtitle Subtitle C— - Navy and Marine Corps › Part PART IV— - GENERAL ADMINISTRATION › Chapter CHAPTER 883— - PRIZE › § 8871
Money from a prize fund can only be paid when a court orders it. The court may, at any time, order that approved costs or charges be paid from the money deposited with the Treasurer or a public depositary for the case. When the case is finally decided, the court must tell the Treasurer or depositary to pay any allowed costs that are still unpaid. If the final decision requires restitution, or if there is no money in the case the court can use, unpaid costs the court approved and that claimants did not pay must be paid from the fund that covers expenses of suits where the United States is a party or has an interest.
