Title 10 › Subtitle Subtitle D— - Air Force and Space Force › Part PART III— - TRAINING › Chapter CHAPTER 951— - TRAINING GENERALLY › § 9419
The Secretary of the Air Force must keep male and female recruits in separate, secure housing during basic training. Sleeping and bathroom areas for each sex must be divided by permanent walls, have separate entrances, and be supervised by authorized, trained staff. If an installation cannot meet those rules by October 1, 2001, recruits there must be housed in barracks only for males or only for females. New recruit housing must be planned and built so sexes can be kept separate and secure. "Basic training" means the Air Force or Space Force initial training for new recruits.
