Title 12 › Chapter CHAPTER 28— - EMERGENCY MORTGAGE RELIEF › § 2705
The Secretary may make repayable emergency mortgage relief payments directly to a lender on behalf of homeowners who are behind on their mortgage payments when that lender could join the program under section 2704 but either cannot get an advance under section 2712 or sections 1430, 1430b, or 1431 or chooses not to join. Those payments are allowed only for mortgages that meet the rules in section 2702 and only on the terms the Secretary sets, subject to section 2703.
