Even if other federal or state laws would say otherwise, a savings association that converts into a bank may keep operating any branch or agency it had just before the change. It may also open, buy, and run new branches anywhere inside any State where it already had a branch before converting, as long as that State’s law would allow a state-chartered bank to have the branch.
