A corporation under this subchapter may, within two years before its charter ends, apply to the Federal Reserve Board to extend existence to twenty years if two‑thirds of shareholders vote to do so. If the Board approves, the extension stands unless ended by a two‑thirds vote, an Act of Congress, or losing its franchise for breaking the law.
