The Secretary can use Coast Guard vessels, aircraft, facilities, or personnel to help film producers as long as it is appropriate and does not interfere with Coast Guard missions. Film producers: commercial or noncommercial makers of movies, television, or videotape. The Secretary must track or estimate extra costs and charge the producers. Up to $200 per production can be waived, and other waivers may be allowed for noncommercial projects in the public interest. Money collected is returned to the Coast Guard account that paid the costs.
