Title 15 › Chapter CHAPTER 40— - DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE › § 1521a
Creates the Department of Commerce Nonrecurring Expenses Fund in the U.S. Treasury. Unused expired discretionary money given to Commerce from the Treasury’s General Fund can be moved into this Fund no later than the end of the fifth fiscal year after the last year the money was available. Money in the Fund stays available until spent and can pay for information and business technology upgrades and needed facility improvements, but the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) must approve uses. The House and Senate Appropriations Committees must be notified at least 15 days before any planned use of the Fund. Adds $20,000,000 to the Fund for business application system modernization; that amount is available until September 30, 2022.
