Sets the required sizes for standard barrels used for fruits, vegetables, and other dry goods (except cranberries). Measured without stretching its parts, staves must be 28½ inches long, head diameter 17⅛ inches, distance between heads 26 inches, bulge circumference 64 inches outside, and stave thickness no greater than four-tenths of an inch. A differently shaped barrel that holds exactly 7,056 cubic inches also counts as standard. For cranberries the required sizes are: staves 28½ inches; head diameter 16¼ inches; distance between heads 25¼ inches; bulge circumference 58½ inches outside; and stave thickness no greater than four-tenths of an inch.
