Title 15 › Chapter CHAPTER 89— - PROFESSIONAL BOXING SAFETY › § 6305
A professional boxer must register with the boxing commission in the state where they live. If the boxer lives in another country or in a state without a commission, they may register with any state commission that has one. The commission must give the boxer an ID card with a recent photo, the boxer’s Social Security number (or a similar ID number from their home country), and a personal ID number from the boxing registry. The boxer must renew the card at least once every 4 years and show it by the weigh-in for a match. When giving the ID card, the commission should also give a health and safety notice. The notice should describe boxing risks, especially brain injury, and recommend periodic medical checks to look for brain damage.
