Defines key words used in the subtitle. "Administration" and "Administrator" mean the Small Business Administration and its head. "Disaster area" means a place hit by a natural or other disaster, as set under paragraph (1) or (2) of section 636(b) of this title, while the declaration is in effect. "Disaster loan program of the Administration" means the aid under section 636(b) as changed by this Act. "Disaster update period" runs from the President’s major disaster declaration (including cases tied to paragraph (9) of section 636(b)) until that declaration ends. "Major disaster" means what section 5122 of title 42 says. "Small business concern" means what section 632 of this title says. "State" includes every U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, the Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and any U.S. territory or possession.
