Title 15 › Chapter CHAPTER 14A— - AID TO SMALL BUSINESS › § 648b
The Administrator may give grants to Small Business Development Centers to help small businesses get loans or credit, win Federal contracts, lower energy bills with audits, sell goods or services overseas, adopt or use broadband, or get other targeted help. Money is split among States using the formula in section 648(a)(4)(C)(i), but each State must get at least $325,000. At least 80% of grant funds must pay for one‑on‑one counseling, and no more than 20% may pay for classes or seminars. Grant recipients do not have to provide non‑Federal matching funds. The Administrator must send out all appropriated money within 30 days after it is made available. Up to $50,000,000 is authorized to be appropriated for these grants.
