Title 15 › Chapter CHAPTER 2— - FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION; PROMOTION OF EXPORT TRADE AND PREVENTION OF UNFAIR METHODS OF COMPETITION › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER III— - LABELING OF WOOL PRODUCTS › § 68d
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) must enforce the rules about wool products. The FTC has the same powers and duties it has under the Federal Trade Commission Act to stop people from breaking these wool rules. It can write rules about how to show fiber content and how to separate information for different parts of a wool product so buyers are not confused. The FTC can inspect, test, and examine wool products and can work with federal, state, or local agencies or with private people. Every maker of wool products must keep records that show the fiber content of the items they make. They must keep those records for at least three years. If a maker fails to do this, they must pay $100 for each day they do not keep the records, and the government can collect that money in a civil lawsuit.
