Defines key words used in this chapter. Contraband oil means petroleum (or part of it) that was produced, moved, or taken from storage more than state law or state agency rules allow, except when a State has lawfully taken ownership. Products or petroleum products means any item made from petroleum by refining, processing, manufacturing, or similar work. Interstate commerce means trade or transport that crosses state lines, passes through other states, or goes from the U.S. to another country while inside the U.S. Person means an individual or a business like a partnership, corporation, or joint‑stock company.
