§7306 Disclosure of information

Title 15 › Chapter CHAPTER 99— - NATIONAL CONSTRUCTION SAFETY TEAM › § 7306

Last updated Apr 6, 2026|Official source

Summary

Makes records, reports, and investigation materials a Team gets available to the public if someone asks and pays a reasonable fee. But they do not have to release information that is exempt under section 552(b) of title 5 or other federal law, or information from NIST or a Team until the report required by section 7307 is issued. Even if other laws allow it, NIST, a Team, and agencies must not share safety information that was given voluntarily if it is not directly about the building failure and the Director finds that sharing it would stop people from volunteering that kind of information. They also must not release information if the Director finds doing so could risk public safety.
