Last updated Apr 6, 2026|Official source

Summary

The Secretary must create national orders for manufacturers of concrete masonry products and follow the rules below. Only one order can be in effect at any time. A proposed order can come from the Secretary, from a national group of concrete masonry product manufacturers, or from anyone who might be affected. If the Secretary finds the proposal fits the law, the Secretary must publish it in the Federal Register within 90 days of getting it and allow at least 30 days for public comment. After comments, the Secretary must issue the order and include any needed provisions so it follows the law. If a required referendum gets a yes vote under section 8706, the order must be issued and take effect no later than 140 days after publication. The Secretary can later change an order, and the same rules apply to amendments.
