Sets meanings for key words used in the subchapter. Contaminant means any physical, chemical, biological, or radiological matter in water. Contaminant of emerging concern or emerging contaminant means a contaminant for which the Administrator has not created a national primary drinking water regulation and that may harm people’s health. Federal research strategy means the coordinated cross‑agency plan, developed by the Office of Science and Technology Policy in response to the Committee on Appropriations report accompanying S. 1662 of the 115th Congress (S. Rept. 115–139). Technical assistance and support includes help finding, using, and fixing analytical methods; advice on lab certification; interpreting results; training on analytical techniques; finding treatment technology; and analyzing samples when the analysis cannot be otherwise obtained in a practicable manner and a Federal facility has the needed capability and capacity. Working Group means the group set up under section 8952(b)(1) of this title.
