Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 18— - WATERSHED PROTECTION AND FLOOD PREVENTION › § 1009
When the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works or the House Committee on Public Works and Transportation passes a resolution allowing it, the Secretary of the Army and the Secretary of Agriculture must work together, using their current powers, to study watershed areas in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands and write joint reports with recommendations for flood prevention and for water conservation, development, use, and disposal. Those reports must be sent to Congress through the President for approval and authorization. The project-authorization process under Public Law 566, Eighty-third Congress, as amended, is not changed.
