Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 28— - WILD AND SCENIC RIVERS › § 1285b
Sets limits on the protected area along certain Alaska rivers listed by the law. Each river must have a boundary that averages no more than 640 acres per mile on both sides. The boundary must not include land owned by the State or local governments and must not surround private land. A federal withdrawal of mineral rights applies to minerals in Federal land that make up the riverbed or bank, or that lie within one-half mile of the bank, for any river the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act designates as a "wild" river.
