If someone uses guns, traps, teams, horses, or any kind of transportation to kill, trap, ensnare, or capture wild animals or birds inside the park, those items must be taken by the United States. Park officers may seize and keep the items until the person goes to court. If the person is found guilty, keeping those items becomes an extra penalty on top of any other punishment. The Secretary of the Interior is in charge of deciding what to do with the seized property and of keeping records about it.
