Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 44A— - ANTARCTIC MARINE LIVING RESOURCES CONVENTION › § 2442
The chapter cannot override any international treaty, convention, or agreement that was in in force with the United States on November 8, 1984, or any law that puts those agreements into effect. It also does not override laws passed before that date about Antarctic marine living resources. If the Convention, conservation measures the Commission adopts under Article IX, or rules made under this chapter are stricter than those earlier treaties or laws, the stricter protections can still be used.
