Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 44B— - ANTARCTIC MINERAL RESOURCES PROTECTION › § 2465
Breaking this chapter or rules made under it counts as breaking the Antarctic Marine Living Resources Convention Act (16 U.S.C. 2431–2444). The Under Secretary, or a federal official the Under Secretary names, enforces those violations under that Act. If the Under Secretary finds someone broke section 2463, that person cannot locate a U.S. mining claim, and the Secretary of the Interior must refuse any patent or mineral/geothermal lease application they try to perfect after that finding.
