Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 1— - NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER XXVII— - OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK › § 251f
The Secretary of the Interior must, within 30 days after October 21, 1976, meet with the Governor of Washington, the Clallam County commissioners, and affected landowners and draw a boundary around all of Lake Ozette’s shoreline. The boundary must include privately owned aquatic lands that were not inside the park on October 21, 1976, be set back at least 200 feet from the ordinary high-water mark, and may not add more than 1,500 acres of private land to the park. Within 180 days after October 21, 1976, after giving written notice to the Senate and House Committees on Interior and Insular Affairs that he plans to do so, the Secretary must publish a detailed description of that boundary in the Federal Register. After publication, he may update the official park map on file, and the revised map will have the same legal effect as if it were included in sections 251e–251m.
