Property used to illegally hunt, trap, catch, or damage wildlife, trees, plants, or mineral deposits in the park must be taken by the United States. Park officers may seize and hold weapons, fishing gear, clothing, animals, vehicles, boats, aircraft, machinery, or other equipment while someone is charged. If the person is found guilty, those items can be taken as an extra punishment on top of other penalties. The Secretary of the Interior will handle and dispose of forfeited property. For teams, horses, machinery, logging equipment, motor vehicles, aircraft, boats, or other means of transportation, the court may decide whether to order forfeiture.
