Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 46— - PUBLIC UTILITY REGULATORY POLICIES › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER II— - STANDARDS FOR ELECTRIC UTILITIES › § 2627
This chapter does not let or force an electric utility to collect revenues or earn a rate of return that is different from what other laws say is lawful. States and nonregulated utilities may make different rules under state law. For Federal agencies and the Tennessee Valley Authority, when it is treated as a State regulatory authority, references to "State law" in sections 2621 and 2623 mean Federal law.
