Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 51— - ALASKA NATIONAL INTEREST LANDS CONSERVATION › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER VI— - ADMINISTRATIVE PROVISIONS › § 3194
Even if the Act limits size or borders for Cape Krusenstern National Monument, Bering Land Bridge National Preserve, Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve, and Kobuk Valley National Park, the Secretary may officially add federal lands or acquire (buy, accept as a gift, or swap for) important archaeological or fossil sites in Alaska that lie outside those areas but are closely related to them. Any site added will become part of that area and be managed with it, but no more than 7,500 acres may be added to any one area. Before adding or acquiring more than 100 acres, the Secretary must notify the appropriate congressional committees and publish a notice in the Federal Register.
