Alaska National Preserves are managed like national parks unless the law says otherwise. Hunting, fishing (including subsistence), and trapping are allowed under State and Federal law. The Secretary may close areas or set times for safety, management, plant or animal protection, or public enjoyment, but must consult the State agency except in emergencies.
