Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 1— - NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER LVIII— - VALLEY FORGE NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK › § 410aa–2
When the Secretary finds enough land has been bought to make a single, manageable park unit, he must create the park by putting a notice in the Federal Register. The park cannot be created until the Secretary gets commitments from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania that the funds from acts 320 and 352 of 1974 and act 12A of 1975 will stay available and be used for development in the park. The Secretary must manage the park under the laws of August 25, 1916 (39 Stat. 535), and August 21, 1935 (49 Stat. 666), as amended. He may give technical help to public and private nonprofit groups to get historic designations and to apply for grants or other financial help under federal, state, or local law to protect, repair, or preserve nearby historic properties related to the park.
