Federal lands inside the park cannot be claimed, taken, or transferred under the public land laws. People also cannot stake mining claims, obtain mining patents, or get leases or sell rights for minerals, geothermal energy, or mineral materials on those lands. Existing valid rights that already began before this rule remain unaffected.
