Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 1— - NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER LIX–Z— - NEW ORLEANS JAZZ NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK › § 410bbb
Create a New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park to preserve jazz’s origins, early history, and development; offer visitors the sounds and places where jazz grew; and build educational partnerships to keep jazz alive in New Orleans and the nation. Congress finds that jazz is the country’s most widely recognized native music and art form, that Congress recognized it in 1987 by Senate Concurrent Resolution 57, that New Orleans is its birthplace, and that Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve honors the region’s cultural diversity including jazz.
