Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 1— - NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER LIX–CC— - ADAMS NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK › § 410eee–3
The Secretary must run the park under the same rules that apply to National Park System units, including the Acts approved August 25, 1916 (39 Stat. 535; 16 U.S.C. 1, 2, 3, and 4) and August 21, 1935 (49 Stat. 666; 16 U.S.C. 461–467). The Secretary may make cooperative agreements with people and groups to help preserve, develop, explain, and use the park. Any payment under such an agreement must say that if a project is later used, sold, or changed for a purpose against this part of the law, the United States can require repayment of either all money it provided or the share of the added value caused by that money, whichever is larger. The Secretary may acquire land inside the park by buying it with appropriated funds, accepting donations, or trading for it. Any U.S. law, rule, document, map, or other official paper that mentions "Adams National Historic Site" should be treated as referring to the historical park.
