The Secretary of the Interior can accept ownership of specific lands near Everglades City, Florida to help run and use Everglades National Park. These are the parts of tracts R and S west of State Road 29, plus lots 1 through 9 of block 40, shown on N.P.S. Map No. EVE–NP–E–1 dated June 23, 1959, measuring 18.98 acres, 1.32 acres, and 3.17 acres. The Secretary can also take up to 15 acres of nearby submerged land if needed. In return, the Secretary can give the owners the United States’ interest in Tract L (9.09 acres) and block 34 (1.65 acres) in or near Everglades City.
