Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 1— - NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER LIX–P— - PECOS NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK › § 410rr–7
Creates the Glorieta Unit of Pecos National Historical Park to protect and explain the Battle of Glorieta for people today and in the future. The unit covers about 682 acres shown on the map titled “Glorieta Unit—Pecos National Historical Park,” number 430–80,031, dated July 1990. Lands in unit number 26 of the “Historic Zone” move from the Secretary of Agriculture to the Secretary of the Interior. The Secretary of the Interior can accept land gifts, buy land with donated or approved funds, or trade for land. The Secretary must get an owner’s consent before buying land unless the Secretary finds the property is being used or could be used in ways that harm the unit or its management. The Secretary must add rules for the Glorieta Unit into the park’s general management plan, including the routes related to the Battle of Glorieta. Congress may provide whatever money is needed to carry out these actions.
