Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 1— - NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER LIX–W— - KEWEENAW NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK › § 410yy–7
The Secretary, through the National Park Service, may give money and technical help to owners of non‑Federal property inside the park that has nationally important historic or cultural resources. The help can pay to mark, explain, or restore those sites. The Park Service may visit the public parts at reasonable times to bring visitors and interpret the place. Any changes to the property must be agreed to by both the Secretary and the owner. Federal money must be matched $1 for $1 by non‑Federal funds. The Secretary can accept and use outside money for that match. Gifts of land or land interests from the State of Michigan can count as the non‑Federal contribution.
