Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 1— - NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER LX— - NATIONAL MILITARY PARKS › § 423a–3
Petersburg National Battlefield’s boundary is changed to include the land shown on the map titled “Petersburg National Battlefield Proposed Boundary Expansion,” number 325/80,080, dated June 2007/March 2016. That map is kept on file and available for public viewing in National Park Service offices. The Secretary of the Interior may acquire those lands only from willing sellers, by donation, by purchase with donated or appropriated funds, by exchange, or by transfer. Any land acquired must be managed as part of Petersburg National Battlefield under the usual laws and rules. Two small parcels are swapped between the Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of the Army as shown on the map “Petersburg National Battlefield Proposed Transfer of Administrative Jurisdiction,” number 325/80,801A, dated May 2011/March 2016, also on file with the National Park Service. About 1.170 acres go to the Army and will be removed from the battlefield boundary. About 1.171 acres go to the Secretary and will be added to and run as part of the battlefield. The swaps are made without payment.
