Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 1— - NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER LX— - NATIONAL MILITARY PARKS › § 430p
Officials from any State that had troops at the Battle of Monocacy may go onto the battlefield and nearby land to find and mark the battle lines where troops fought. Before any marks are made permanent, the positions and the plans for marking them (for example monuments or tablets, plus their design and wording) must be sent to and get written approval from the Secretary of the Interior. States must be treated the same in how they mark lines, and any grant the Secretary gives to one State can be used by another.
