Summary

When the Secretary of the Interior decides the United States has enough land and property, those lands must become the Fort Union National Monument and be managed under the rules for national monuments. The Secretary must publish an order in the Federal Register to announce it. More land can later be bought and added, but the monument cannot exceed 1,000 acres, excluding nearby lands covered by scenic easements.
