The Secretary of the Interior can acquire up to five acres at the old town spring (called Roger Williams Spring) in Providence, Rhode Island—this may include buildings and other land interests—by gift, purchase, transfer, exchange, or other means to create a national memorial to Roger Williams. Property owned by the city of Providence or the Providence Redevelopment Agency can be acquired only with that owner's consent.
