The Secretary can acquire lands, waters, or rights inside the seashore by buying them, accepting donations, getting them from another federal agency, or swapping property. Up to 100 acres on the mainland can be obtained to provide access. Lands owned by Georgia can only be taken by donation. Federal property already inside the seashore can be moved under the Secretary’s control without payment if the agency that holds it agrees.
