The Secretary may trade land of equal value for land the United States receives. If the owner gives Tract A to the United States, the Secretary can give the owner Tract D instead, subject to any conditions the Secretary requires; Tract D is about 2.50 acres in the southeast quarter of section 33, township 16 south, range 29 east, Mount Diablo meridian, Tulare County, California. If the owners give Tracts B and C to the United States, the Secretary can give them Tract E instead; Tract E is about 188 acres in township 17 south, range 29 east, Mount Diablo meridian. Tract E includes the southwest quarter of the northwest quarter of section 4 (subject to section 818 of this title), the south half of the northeast quarter of section 5, and about 68 acres of the north half of the southeast quarter of section 5, excluding the surveyed 200‑foot strip shown on map “D” of exhibit “K” filed with the Federal Power Commission on December 12, 1923.
