Summary

Creates the Golden Gate National Recreation Area Advisory Commission. It must have eighteen members who are picked by the Secretary for five-year terms. Anyone appointed or reappointed after January 1, 1979 must have their term extended so it does not end before June 1, 1985. If a seat opens, it is filled the same way the first appointment was made. Members do not get pay, but the Secretary can pay reasonable expenses if the Chairman signs the expense claims. The Secretary, or the person the Secretary names, must meet and talk with the Commission at least once a year about rules, planning, management, and development that affect the recreation area and other park units in Marin, San Mateo, and San Francisco Counties. The Commission acts or gives advice when more than half the members vote yes. The Commission ends thirty years after October 27, 1972.
