Putting Hualapai tribal or allotted lands inside the Lake Mead National Recreation Area can only happen if the Hualapai Tribal Council agrees. Any mineral development or use on those lands must follow the laws that govern Indian lands. Leases and permits for recreation, business sites, homes, vacation cabins, and grazing must follow Indian land lease rules and also meet the Lake Mead development standards. Hualapai people keep their existing hunting and fishing rights.
