Indiana Dunes National Park is dedicated to Paul H. Douglas to honor his work protecting and improving the park. The Secretary of the Interior must name the park’s west unit the "Paul H. Douglas Ecological and Recreational Unit" and, if Congress provides money, create a "Paul H. Douglas Center for Environmental Education" to teach visitors the park’s natural and human history and why Congress created it, and provide signs, maps, displays, and programs about Douglas’s role.
