Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area is created in Utah and Wyoming to support the Colorado River storage project, provide outdoor recreation at Flaming Gorge Reservoir and nearby lands, and protect scenic, scientific, historic, and other values for public enjoyment. Valid existing rights remain in effect. The area's boundaries are shown on the map titled "Proposed Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area," on file and open for public inspection in the office of the Chief, Forest Service, Department of Agriculture.
