Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 1— - NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER LXXXII— - SLEEPING BEAR DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE › § 460x–1
The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore must include the land and water shown on the map called "A Proposed Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Boundary Map," map number NL–SBD–91,000, dated May 1969. That map will be kept on file and available for public inspection at National Park Service offices. As soon as possible after October 21, 1970, and after the Secretary acquires the lands owned by the State of Michigan inside those boundaries (except up to 300 acres in the Platte Bay area) and any other lands needed to make the area efficiently manageable for the subchapter’s purposes, the Secretary must create the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore by publishing a notice in the Federal Register.
