Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 2— - NATIONAL FORESTS › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER I— - ESTABLISHMENT AND ADMINISTRATION › § 471c
A specific area in California is made reserved forest land. The area is defined by township and range lines along the Mount Diablo meridian and base line (covering townships about from 2 north down to 4 south and ranges about 19 to 27 east). That land cannot be sold, settled, or occupied under United States law and is withdrawn from public entry. Anyone who moves onto or lives on any part of that area without permission will be treated as a trespasser and removed. This does not affect any lawful land claims made inside the area under U.S. law before October 1, 1890.
