Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 69— - WILD EXOTIC BIRD CONSERVATION › § 4913
The Secretary must use money from the Exotic Bird Conservation Fund, when funds are available, to pay for financial and technical help for projects that protect exotic birds in the countries where they live. The Fund is a separate Treasury account made up of penalties, fines, and forfeited property collected under this law after paying rewards under section 4912(c), donations for exotic bird conservation, and any money Congress provides. Projects for species under an import moratorium or quota must get special attention to help with conservation plans or law enforcement. The Secretary must work with industry, conservation groups, the Convention Secretariat, and other bodies to study voluntary labeling, breeder and retailer certification, and private technical aid, and must report the findings to Congress within 2 years after October 23, 1992.
