Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 2— - NATIONAL FORESTS › Subchapter SUBCHAPTER I— - ESTABLISHMENT AND ADMINISTRATION › § 539c
The Secretary of Agriculture must set up a joint planning process to improve fish stocks using hatcheries and aquaculture in the Tongass National Forest. The State of Alaska and suitable nonprofit aquaculture groups must take part. The Secretary can hire private nonprofit groups to help. Each time National Forest management plans are revised under the Forest and Rangeland Renewable Resources Planning Act of 1974 and the National Forest Management Act of 1976, the revision must include a report on that planning. The report must describe current projects, evaluate how well they are working, list and rank future projects for the plan period, and be sent to Congress with any legislative recommendations the Secretary thinks are needed.
