Last updated Apr 6, 2026|Official source

Summary

A Representative must not make two kinds of requests under the Convention unless they first talk with the appropriate Regional Fishery Management Councils and get the Commissioners' consent. One request (Article VII(10)(b)) asks the Scientific Council to study and report on the science for managing and conserving U.S. fishery resources in the Convention Area. The other (Article VII(11)) sets the terms of reference for that study.
