Title 16 › Chapter CHAPTER 4— - PROTECTION OF TIMBER, AND DEPREDATIONS › § 615a
The Secretary of the Interior can have timber on public lands in Alaska appraised under rules he sets. He may sell that timber at no less than the appraised price, in amounts he decides, for use in Alaska and not for export except as allowed under section 615b of this title. Sales are limited to actual yearly needs. Buyers must pay a local land office officer the Secretary names, and that officer must keep a separate account and deposit the money in the Treasury.
